Updates from the End of Summer

The last two weeks have been a whirlwind as summer is coming to an end.

Participated in the Fall Into Fashion show at Northbrook Mall and modeling clothes from Lulu and Lucy, shoes from Geox, had my hair styled by Vidal Sasson, and modeling very expensive jewelry.

The following day I shot an entire Look Book Miriam Carlson. She is an extremely talented designer - you will be seeing her work very soon. Very Lily Allen... who is now one of the faces for Chanel!

My photo in Fault Magazine shall be out this Fall.

Might be one of 5 faces for a new line of made to order to custom jeans.

Photos will be posted as soon as I receive them!

Hair Shows

Friday I went to a casting for a hair show, granted I chose not to participate.

While there I noticed most girls were very young with very "normal" hair volunteering for very "not normal" hair haircuts.

I went through many rebellious states in my youth - including punk/hardcore. I had a mohawk. I colored my hair ever color imaginable. And I informed these girls of what was going to happen to their hair based off of my experiences.

This being said, if you ever agree to do a hair show I implore to talk to the stylist about the cut/color to see if it will work for you and about how the upkeep it will require - especially keeping your hair healthy!

A few years back I would have jumped at the chance but now my professional self held me back for I know purple, pink, and yellow hair is not for me.

Time Passes

And sometimes you get a little too busy for the internet.
I have actually been busy working, working on my thesis, and helping out at shoots/shows.
I am the process of taking the fashion world by storm.
Just you wait and see.

xXx

I consider myself a fairly creative and intellectual person - I mean, I do have two degrees!  I tend to get inspired at the same time every night - 3:00a.m.  I fancy myself a writer, I have written for magazines and will be in a book of collected works, and wrote a piece on why I have claimed the Straight Edge lifestyle.  I then decided I wanted to shoot a story for, well, the story.  I came up with the concept for the setting to the lighting to the wardrobe to the styling to the hair and make up... I think I am coming into my own as a creative director and stylist as well as model!  I believe it is important to be multifaceted.

The sitting shot was actually the first shot of the day.

Hair Wars

I recently participated in Hair Wars.  I was with Q Salon for the actual competition.  However, I have been recruited by the winning salon - Hairborne- and will be featured in Fault Magazine and attend the finals in Vegas with them.

Hello again, dear model world!  I am here posting some photos taken by Isabel Gonzalez - an up and coming artistic photographer.  Isabel works with minimal lightening  and truly focuses on capturing the essence of her models.  Her shots are always innocent.  Always pure.  And always full of heart.  These photos were taken with the use of one reflector and sunlight.  Photoshop was implemented to convert the black and white photo, but nothing more beyond that.  Everything you see is in these photos is exactly what it looked like when it was shot.  No smokes.  No mirrors.  Just talent and love of art.

Snakes and Suits

I recently had the pleasure to shoot with the clothing company Snakes & Suits.
I was very honored as it is a popular line in the indie music scene and they normally have their friends (popular bands such as A Rocket to the Moon and Cobra Starship) shoot for them. Granted, I know them... but still!
It was an early day, but a fun day.... and I got to perfect my commercial modeling skills.
The line can be viewed at http://snakesandsuits.bigcartel.com/ !
